The temple was totally ruined by the Persians in 480 BC, before it was completed. 

Another hidden jewel of Attica is the Sounio National Park. It was founded in 1971 and is considered to be the smallest park in Greece. The most amazing part of the place is  called "Chaos". It must have been created by the fall of the cave roof that existed in the area.
